AMD will launch its new generation of graphics cards on December 15th. The new cards that launches as the Radeon HD 6900 series have been delayed from November and is said to have a hard time keeping up with NVIDIA's latest monster, the answer will be a new price war.
According to DigiTimes AMD's new graphics card models Radeon HD 6970 and Radeon HD 6950 will have a hard time with NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 500 series. It claims GeForce GTX 580 will still be on top, which AMD is fully aware of.
The solution will be a new price war where HD 6970 will be between 50-70 USD cheaper than the flagship from NVIDIA. NVIDIA's reply and exactly how the four cards match up (HD 6970/6950 and GTX 570/580) will have to wait until next week
DigiTimes says that sources at graphics card makers confirms that availability will be limited to begin with, which comes at anything but a surprise.
