TUJ has joined a more beautiful web

Its done! We've finally been able to optimize The Unfused Journal to take full advantage of Microsofts Internet Explorer 9. Ever since the release of IE9 Beta, we've been working hard updating the innards on the blog as much as we could to the new standards. We ran across a lot of road blocks (no thanks to Google Blogger) however we've made it through alive.

See a complete tour of the new features after the break.

Heres a tour of some of the new features now enabled with IE9 and Windows 7:

Pinning to Taskbar: You can now pin TUJ to your taskbar for easy access and efficient navigation to specific site locations. Pinning is easy, just go to http://unfusedjournal.blogspot.com on IE9 and drag the tab to the taskbar. (click the images to enlarge)

Automatic Color Schemes: You dont have to do anything for this feature, after pinning the TUJ blog, IE9 will automatically adopt a color scheme from the TUJ logo.

Jumplists: Jumplists give you easy navigation access to all of TUJ's site sections. TUJ Jumplists will also allow you to filter news articles from its site so you can get to the content that matters the most to you quickly. In future updates, Jumplists will also notify you of breaking news so youre always up-to-date with whats going on. Just right click (or click, hold, and drag up) the pinned TUJ logo to view the Jumplist.

Behind the scenes features:

HTML5: HTML5 brings lots of optimizations to the table, like embedded video and audio support without the need of plug-ins. This makes loading and streaming much faster. It also allows content to be viewed on other devices and computer form factors (like those that dont support Adobe Flash, ahm *cough*Apple!) possible. TUJ will try to make best use of this new HTML specification whenever it can.

Hardware Acceleration: IE9 was designed from the ground up with speed in mind. It is currently one of the fastest browsers available since it takes full advantage of the GPU. Rendering high resolution images faster and playing HD video smoothly, its highly recommended for those of you with powerful gaming rigs. TUJ is currently re-optimizing all of the video and images on the site to formats that IE9 can accelerate.
