With the launch of the official website for Electronic Arts and DICE's Battlefield 3, the first details have started to trickle forth on the highly-anticipated title. So far, it appears that the game is shaping up to be a successful sequel to Battlefield 2.
"Beyond our signature multiplayer, we have also included a full single-player campaign and a co-op campaign," reads the new post on the blog. "As for fan favorite features, how does the return of jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer (on PC) sound?"
According to Game Informer, which has an upcoming cover story within its latest magazine, the new Frostbite 2 engine packs features like "deferred rendering, real-time radiosity, a new animation system borrowed from the EA Sports label, and an exponential leap in destructibility," while Battlefield 3 Executive Producer Patrick Bach claims that this new engine is "the best piece of technology on the market when it comes to building games."
